Field Trials Coordinator for project EU4Moldova Sustainable Food Systems – Production

SUBJECT-MATTER DESCRIPTION

The subject of the public contract is expert assistance and consultations in the implementation of delegated cooperation project in Moldova titled "EU4Moldova Sustainable Food Systems – Production". The expert assistance and consultations will include these activities: • Development of Methodology for Field Trials: Creation of a methodological framework for planning and conducting field trials. • Development of the Recommendation System for Crop Varieties: Design of a recommendation system for selecting crop varieties., The system will rely on specific agro-climatic zones, soil types, and other relevant factors., Integration of the results of variety testing and field trials to provide practical recommendations for farmers and agronomists. • Preparation of the List of Crop Varieties for Testing: Identification and development of a list of suitable crop varieties for testing and subsequent analysis. • Coordination and Selection of relevant Seed Breeders and Multipliers: Collaboration with local seed producers to involve them in field trials. • Preparation of Technical Documentation: Development of technical specifications and tender documents for necessary equipment to conduct field trials. • Responsibility for Achieving Project Goals and Indicators: Ensure the achievement of established goals and indicators under project activities 1.2.1 and 1.2.2 in collaboration with the project team. • Planning and Conducting Field Trials: Design and managing of the field trials to evaluate the performance of various crop varieties under different agricultural conditions in Moldova; Design and managing of the field trials where the IP system rules will be applied. • Data Collection and Analysis: Implementation of data collection methods for field trials, focusing on key performance indicators such as yield, pest and disease resistance, and adaptability to local conditions., Analysis of the collected data to identify the best-performing varieties and generate actionable recommendations. Analysis the collected data from the field trials where the IP system rules are applied. • Stakeholder Engagement and Training: Organization of workshops, seminars, and training sessions focused on introducing and using the recommendation system., Provision of practical guidance to local farmers, agronomists, and other stakeholders. • Review of Existing Practices and Data: Conduct a comprehensive analysis of Moldova’s current variety testing methods and available data., Identification of gaps and areas for improvement in the selection, testing, and recommendation of crop varieties. • Reporting and Documentation: Preparation of detailed reports and materials summarizing findings from field trials., Formulation of specific recommendations for the adoption and promotion of selected crop varieties in Moldova’s agricultural system. • Contribution to Other Project Activities: Active participation in additional project activities as required and assist in their successful implementation. • Collaboration with Czech Experts and Support for the Czech Implementing Partner: Ensure effective collaboration with Czech experts and provide necessary support to the Czech implementing partner.
